A 12. évfolyam pár lelkes diákja Győrfi Zsuzsanna tanárnővel, március 8-a és 12-e között Londont próbálta a lehető legjobban felfedezni. Élménybeszámolójukat itt olvashatjátok. Magyar nyelvű beszámoló:
Sötét éjjel volt március 8-a, amikor elkezdtük utazásunkat Londonba. 2 óra repülés után a Luton reptérre érkeztünk. A repülőtérről busszal mentünk Londonba, azon belül a Victoria állomásra. Onnét folytattuk utunkat a Buckingham palotához, ahol az őrségváltást láthattuk. Onnét a St. James Parkon keresztül mentünk a Big Benhez. Cuccaink lepakolása után elmentünk a Nemzeti Galériához, ahol láttuk Van Gogh leghíresebb festményét, a Napraforgókat. Majd a napunkat egy esti sétával zártuk, amikor is megnéztük a kínai negyedet és a Picadilly Circust.
Másnap megnéztük a London Eye-t, majd utunkat a Borough Market felé vettük, ahol megebédeltünk. Utána a Tower Bridge-en áthaladva eljutottunk a Tower épületegyütteséhez, amit alaposan meg is néztünk. Este pedig London modern részét tekintettük meg, ahol volt szerencsénk olyan híres épületeket látni, mint például az Uborka.
Harmadnapunk is zsúfoltra sikeredett. A Harrods áruházban kezdtünk, majd onnét a Science Múzeumba mentünk, ami a magyar Csodák Palotájának felel meg. Ezek után a Hyde Parkban sétálgattunk, majd Notting Hillbe látogattunk el, mely roppant nyugodt helynek bizonyult. Ezek után az Oxford Streeten keresztül sétáltunk haza.
Pénteki napunkat Greenwich-ben kezdtük, ahol elmentünk a 0. hosszúsági vonalhoz. Onnét a King’s Cross állomásra mentünk a 9 és ¾ vágányt megnézni, majd Camden Town-ba látogattunk a fish and chips-et kipróbálni és szuveníreket vásárolni.
Utolsó nap sétálgattunk a Temze partján, ahonnét bementünk a Tate Modernbe, egy modern művészeteket bemutató múzeumba. Ezen kívül e napon megnéztük a Szent Pál- katedrálist, valamint a Westminster Abbey-t. Majd eme nap sötét éjjelén, március 12-én, élményekkel gazdagodva hazaérkeztünk.
Angol nyelvű beszámoló:
It was a dark night on 8th March when we started our journey to London. We arrived at Luton airport after two hours of flying. We took a bus to London, to Victoria Station. From there we continued our way in the direction of Buckingham Palace where we could see the Changing of the Guards. Then we approached Big Ben through St. James’s Park. After that we went to the National Gallery. We saw the famous painting, Sunflowers, made by Van Gogh. We finished our day with a walk in the evening, visiting China Town and Piccadilly Circus.
The next day we saw the London Eye, from there we moved on to Borough Market. After that we took off to the Tower walking through Tower Bridge. As our tour in the Tower ended we went sightseeing in the modern part of the City of London This is where we could see interesting buildings like the Gherkin and lots more.
The third day was quite busy,too. We went to Knightsbridge, where we visited the famous department store, Harrods, took a walk in Hyde Park and enjoyed the exhibitons in the Science Museum.
On Friday we went to Greenwich to take a look at the zero degree line in the beautiful Greenwich Park. Then we moved on to the famous platform 9 ¾ at King’s Cross Railwaystation and to Camden Town, where we had fish and chips in a pub.
We started our last day with a walk on South Bank by the Thames. We also entered Tate Modern, the museum of modern art. After that we managed to get into the St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey as well.
At last we returned home a bit sadly because we had to leave the beautiful city of London.
